Whirlpool has launched its latest range of refrigerators in India. The new Protton NXT is a range of 3-door refrigerators that offer both aesthetic design and efficiency for Indian homes. The company says the new range has been engineered to reduce cold air loss by up to 43% compared to your conventional 2-door refrigerators. This helps in maintaining more stable temperatures and long-lasting freshness, according to Whirlpool.
Whirlpool Protton NXT Refrigerators Features:
The USP of the Protton NXT range is its 3-door setup. This separated the freezer, fridge, and vegetable compartments. So, you only have to open the section that you need. Whirlpool says this helps maintain internal temperatures while improving organisation. The refrigerator also offers up to 40% extra storage for fruits and vegetables and uses Fresh Flow vents for 360-degree airflow across compartments.
The range also includes Microblock Technology to help reduce bacterial growth in the refrigerators. Along with this, it also has Active Deo technology to prevent odour mixing between compartments, and FreshNXT moisture-management to help extend the shelf life of produce. These features are aimed at Indian households that often store fresh ingredients for longer cooking cycles.
Additionally, the refrigerator range is also positioned as an energy-efficient option, and meets 2026 BEE 4-Star frost-free standards.
Whirlpool Protton NXT Refrigerators Price & Availability
The Whirlpool Protton NXT range is now available across major retail outlets and online platforms in India. It comes with a starting price tag of Rs 27,500. With this price category, Whirlpool is targeting India’s middle-class buyers who want to move beyond single-door fridges, want smarter storage and better design without entering premium price territory.
The launch of the Protton NXT series also reflects a shift in India’s refrigerator market. Differentiation of products in now moving beyond smart connectivity to innovation of format and even everyday practicality. Today, kitchens in urban homes are getting smaller, and grocery prices are rising every day. Consumers are now prioritising better storage, longer freshness cycles and energy savings over flashy features.
Brand are responding to that need with modular designs, like 3-door layouts, that promise efficiency without dramatic price tags. If these formats resonate with buyers, especially in the Rs 25k-40k segment, they could reshape mid-premium refrigeration in India the way inverter ACs and front-load washers once did.
