Colorful has announced two new Z890 chipset motherboards under its iGame ULTRA series, the iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W and the iGame Z890M ULTRA Z. Both models are designed to support Intel’s latest Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop processors and target high-performance gaming and creator systems.
The new boards follow a white-themed design language that aligns with Colorful’s iGame ULTRA W series graphics cards. Alongside aesthetics, the company is focusing on higher memory speeds, upgraded power delivery, and build-friendly features aimed at simplifying installation and cable management.
iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W focuses on high-end builds and cooling upgrades
The iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W builds on the existing Ultra series design, introducing an all-white PCB and components alongside a customisable ARGB nameplate. Compared to the earlier Z890 Ultra, this version adds a heat pipe and airflow channel design to improve thermal performance.

Colorful claims the board uses a 20+1+1+1 phase power design, which is positioned to handle processors such as the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus at full load. Memory support goes up to DDR5-9600 (overclocked), with a maximum capacity of 256GB across four DIMM slots.
Storage options include one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot and four PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, along with four SATA ports. Connectivity on the rear panel includes USB4 Type-C ports, multiple USB 3.2 ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, and a 5G LAN port paired with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
iGame Z890M ULTRA Z introduces a cable-free power design
The more compact iGame Z890M ULTRA Z marks Colorful’s first “Zero-Cable” motherboard. It replaces traditional 24-pin and CPU power connectors with a 50-pin rear power interface that connects directly to a compatible power supply via contact pins, removing visible power cables from the build.
The board also integrates front panel connectors, including USB, audio, and power headers, into a consolidated interface to reduce cable clutter. This approach is aimed at cleaner builds, though it may depend on ecosystem compatibility with supported power supplies and components.
It features a 14+1+1+1 phase power design with 60A DrMOS stages, supports up to 192GB of DDR5 memory, and includes one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot alongside three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots. Networking includes 2.5G LAN and Wi-Fi 7 support.
Availability and pricing
Colorful has not yet disclosed pricing or global availability details for the iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W and Z890M ULTRA Z motherboards. As with similar enthusiast-focused hardware, availability may initially be limited to select regions and system integrators.
