OPPO launched its last flip phone in October 2023, under the name Find N3 Flip. Since then, the company has not unveiled any new clamshell foldable smartphone. But now, it seems OPPO is gearing up to launch its successor. Today, we found a new patent on WIPO, which suggests that OPPO is working on the next Find N Flip device.

The listing reveals some 2D and 3D drawings of the upcoming smartphone, which show that the company is working on a device with a large cover display and three vertically aligned camera sensors. The cover display definitely looks bigger compared to the one on the Find N3 Flip. Apart from that, there’s nothing particularly unusual about the device — it appears to be a standard flip smartphone, similar to what we’ve seen before.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that this is a patent, not a listing on any certification website. Companies often file patents for concepts that never make it into final products. The presence of a patent does not confirm that this design will be used in a future flip smartphone from OPPO.

Earlier, there were reports online suggesting that OPPO’s Find N5 Flip — which was expected to succeed the Find N3 Flip — had been cancelled. No reason was given, but it is assumed that sales of previous OPPO-made flip phones haven’t been strong enough to justify continuing the line.

However, this new patent on the WIPO website indicates that all hope is not lost at OPPO’s end, and the company may still be working on its next clamshell smartphone. But until we have any sort of confirmation from OPPO itself, it’s better to keep our expectations in check and take all leaks and rumours with a pinch of salt.
