Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge at Rs 1,09,999: 4 Reasons to Be Excited, 2 That Left Us Wanting More

After unveiling the Galaxy S25 Series earlier this year, Samsung isn’t slowing down. The brand has now introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge, a sleek new entrant that stands out for one big reason: it’s just 5.8mm thin. That makes it the slimmest phone on the market—at least for now. Rumour has it, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air might be gunning for the same title.

But while the S25 Edge turns heads with its razor-thin profile, there’s more to it than just looks. Here are four things we love about it—and two that didn’t quite land.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Pricing and Availability

Samsung has officially opened pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 Edge, which arrives in two distinct configurations. As part of its launch offer, the company is providing a complimentary storage upgrade worth Rs 12,000 for early adopters. Additionally, customers can take advantage of no-cost EMI plans extending up to 9 months, adding further value to the purchase.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is available in two elegant finishes: Titanium Silver and Titanium Jet Black, both echoing the device’s premium design ethos.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: 4 Reasons to Be Excited

Here are four reasons that are exciting about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge:

1) 5.8mm Slim Form Factor

At just 5.8mm thinness, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge rewrites the rulebook on smartphone design. While most devices still hover above the 6mm mark, Samsung has gone thinner. This isn’t just about looking sleek—it’s about rethinking how a phone feels in your hand, fits in your pocket, and flows with your everyday routine. The S25 Edge carves its own path, merging bold engineering with everyday practicality.

2) Extremely Lightweight

At just 163 grams, the Galaxy S25 Edge is quite light on your wrists, especially when compared to other modern day smartphones. Samsung has pushed the boundaries of minimalism without compromising the cohesive design that defines the Galaxy S series. Built with a titanium frame, the device is as tough as it is refined—delivering flagship-grade performance in a body that feels featherlight yet unmistakably solid.

3) 200MP Main Camera

Samsung is bringing its camera game to the Edge—literally. The Galaxy S25 Edge features a 200MP main camera, similiar to that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It also has a major focus on Nightography, much like its other siblings. With larger pixels and ultra-high resolution, it captures sharper details and brighter low-light shots. It’s a rare feat to pack this level of performance into a slim, lightweight design, making it an attractive choice for those who value both form and function in their smartphone camera.

4) Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC for Galaxy

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC for Galaxy, the same powerhouse that drives the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Designed for seamless performance, the Edge leverages on-device AI processing to ensure smooth and reliable speed throughout the day. Its innovative vapour chamber, now thinner and wider, effectively dissipates heat, allowing the device to stay cool even during intensive usage. Despite its ultra-slim profile, the S25 Edge is said to maintain peak performance without compromise.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: 2 That Left Us Wanting More

1) 3,900mAh Battery

While competitors are pushing the limits with 7,300mAh batteries, Samsung’s 3,900mAh battery in the Galaxy S25 Edge feels like a significant compromise. Moreover, Samsung has still not opted for silicon carbon batteries, which could have helped with the capacity in this form factor. This smaller battery capacity means users are likely to find themselves tethered to a charger throughout the day—a frustrating reality. With battery life now a top priority for many users, we had higher hopes for the S25 Edge in this department.

2) No Telephoto Camera

At Rs 1,09,999, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge comes with a steep price, but Samsung has opted not to include a telephoto camera. For many photography enthusiasts, a telephoto lens is a key feature for capturing crisp, detailed shots. While the decision to leave it out might be a strategic move to differentiate the Edge from the Ultra, it’s still a bit disappointing to spend this much on a device and not get the most out of its camera capabilities.

While those two drawbacks had us raising an eyebrow, it’s really the price tag on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge that made us do a double take. It sits Rs 35,000 above the standard Galaxy S25, and for that kind of money, what you’re really getting is a slimmer waistline, a featherweight frame, and a 200MP primary camera.

But let’s be honest—the math doesn’t quite add up. The premium feels more like a style tax than a performance leap. Had Samsung shaved a bit off the price instead of just the chassis, the S25 Edge could’ve been the sharpest pick in the series. As it stands, it’s got the looks, but a more grounded price would’ve actually given the Edge…well, an edge.
