Tecno is reportedly working on the Camon 50 series of smartphones. Its arrival seems close at hand, as the Camon 50 and Camon 50 Pro have appeared in the Google Play Console database. As usual, the listings have revealed their front design and key specifications.
Tecno Camon 50 Pro, Camon 50 design
As seen in the Google Play Console listings, the Camon 50 and Camon 50 Pro have model numbers CN5 and CN5c, respectively. The front images show that the standard model has a punch-hole display with a flat design.
On the other hand, the Pro variant has a curved-edge screen and a pill-shaped cutout for the selfie camera. The right side of both phones features the usual volume and power buttons, while the left side has a new button whose functionality is not known yet.
Tecno Camon 50 Pro, Camon 50 key specifications
The Google Play Console listings of the Camon 50 Pro and Camon 50 have not revealed their display sizes. However, both screens support an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2364 pixels. Both devices run on Android 16, which will have Tecno’s HiOS skin on top.
Both smartphones feature the same MediaTek MT6789 chip, which includes two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz, six ARM Cortex-A55 cores operating at 2.0GHz, and ARM Mali-G57 graphics.
Based on these chip details, it appears that these could be 4G versions of the Camon 50 Pro and Camon 50, powered by either the Helio G100 Ultimate or G200 Ultimate chipset. Both devices also have 8GB of RAM, but the rest of their specifications remain under wraps.
Devices that appear in the Google Play Console are known to go official soon after they surface in this database. So, it is likely that the Camon 50 series may go official as early as February, or they may debut at MWC 2026, just as the Camon 40 series did. However, there is no clarity on when these will be released in India.
Xpert Take
The Camon 40 series did not launch in India, so there is no clarity on whether the Camon 50 lineup will head to the country. Even if it does, the company may skip the 4G versions, as there would be limited scope for the success of these models.
The company is currently teasing the Tecno Pova Curve 2 5G in India. This is expected to be a well-designed phone with decent specifications, similar to the previous generation, which received a good response. Hopefully, it may debut within the ongoing quarter in the country.
