Earlier this year, Vivo launched the Vivo V50 and V50e smartphones. However, there’s been no clear indication of whether the company plans to introduce a Vivo V50 Pro. Now, a new development has all but ruled out the V50 Pro, as the next-generation Vivo V60 has received certifications from platforms such as SIRIM (Malaysia) and TUV. This suggests that the V60 could be officially unveiled soon.
Vivo V60 SIRIM, TUV certified
- Last month, a forthcoming Vivo phone with model number V2511 was approved by Europe’s EEC authority.
- The same device has bagged approval from SIRIM and TUV regulatory bodies.
- The SIRIM listing confirms that the V2511 device will carry the Vivo V60 marketing name.
- The TUV listing confirms that the device will have support for 90W charging.
- The rest of the V60’s specifications are under wraps.
Vivo V60: What to expect?
- The Vivo V50 is a tweaked version of the Vivo S20, which was launched in December 2024 in China.
- Therefore, the V60 could be based on the Vivo S30, which went official in May in China.
- The Vivo S30 has a 6.67-inch OLED 1.5K 120Hz screen and is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip.
- It features up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and a 6,000mAh battery with 90W charging.
- It has an autofocus-enabled 50-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (main, OIS) + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) dual-camera system.
Vivo is likely to keep a gap of around six months between the Vivo V50 and V60. The V50 debuted in February, so the V60 may launch in August.
