Recently, forthcoming Vivo phones bearing the model numbers V2502A and V2502DA were spotted on China’s radio certification platform. Both are said to be the same device, with the “DA” variant expected to support Beidou satellite connectivity. While the final name of the V2502A/DA is yet to be revealed, it is believed to belong to the upcoming Vivo X300 series, which is likely to include two models: the X300 and X300 Pro. In a new development, the V2502A/DA has received MIIT certification in China, revealing its battery size for the first time.
Purported Vivo X300 series phone CMIIT certified
As seen above, the Vivo V2502A/DA has appeared in CMIIT’s database. Smartphones in China must obtain radio certification (SRRC), CMIIT/TENAA/NAL certification, and 3C certification before launching in the market. With radio and CMIIT certifications cleared, the V2502A/DA now only needs 3C approval, suggesting a September launch is likely.
The CMIIT certification reveals that the Vivo V2502DA variant, in particular, has support for short messaging via Beidou-3 satellite. The source code of the CMIIT listing also confirms that both devices will run Android 16 and feature a 6,375mAh battery (rated value).
What to expect next?
Reports claim that the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro will debut as the world’s first Dimensity 9500-powered smartphones. Recently, a Vivo phone with model number V2509A appeared on Geekbench with the D9500 chipset, suggesting that the V2509A could also be part of the X300 lineup.
There is a possibility that the V2509A could be the standard Vivo X300, while the V2502A/DA, with optional satellite messaging support, could be the Vivo X300 Pro. However, the final monikers are yet to be confirmed. We are hoping that we will be seeing this phone on many more certification sites in the near future and will be able to gather more details about its specifications and exact monikers.
