Xiaomi appears to be gearing up for a new smartwatch launch. A device from the company, bearing the model number M2501W1, has just surfaced on both the IMDA certification website and EEC listings.
According to the IMDA listing, the upcoming device is classified as a Bluetooth-enabled smartwatch. Meanwhile, the EEC certification confirms that the product will be launched under the Xiaomi, Mi, or Redmi brand.
The EEC listing also reveals that the smartwatch is manufactured by Xiaomi Communications Co., Ltd., and the certification was registered on 10th April 2025, with validity through to March 2030. The product status is marked as “It works.”
While the listings do not reveal much about the features or design, this marks the first formal sign of the upcoming Xiaomi smartwatch. We expect more details to emerge soon.
Interestingly, this development comes just as the company is preparing to launch the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 globally. The Smart Band 10 will succeed the Band 9, which made its European debut in November 2024. We recently revealed the official renders and full specifications of the Band 10.
The upcoming Smart Band 10 will feature a 1.72-inch AMOLED narrow-edge display with a resolution of 212 x 520 pixels and a pixel density of 326ppi. It runs on HyperOS 2.0 and integrates with the Mi Fitness app for health tracking. The device supports over 150 sports modes and is compatible with Android 8.0 and iOS 12.0 or later.
It will come equipped with multiple sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass, PPG sensor, and ambient light sensor. The Smart Band 10 houses a 233mAh LiPo battery capable of lasting up to 21 days on a single charge and takes about an hour to fully recharge. The band features a sandblasted aluminium frame with a TPU strap, weighs 15.95 grams (excluding strap), and measures 46.57 x 22.54 x 10.95 mm.
With the new smartwatch (M2501W1) and Smart Band 10 on the horizon, Xiaomi seems to be doubling down on its wearable strategy for 2025. More details about the smartwatch are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
