Sony Xperia 1 VII is an upcoming flagship phone from the Japanese tech giant. Last month, XpertPick exclusively revealed CAD renders of the device, showcasing its design for the first time. Rumours surrounding the phone suggest that it may debut globally this month (May).

Ahead of the expected launch, a new Sony smartphone powered by a flagship Qualcomm chip has appeared in Geekbench’s database. This device appears to be the Xperia 1 VII, and its Geekbench listing indicates that the company could be internally testing its performance ahead of the official announcement.

  • The Geekbench listings of the upcoming Sony XQ-FS54 and XQ-FS72 phones have revealed that they are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. These appeared to be different country variants of the alleged Sony Xperia 1 VII.
  • While the chipset’s exact name is not explicitly mentioned, it does confirm that the device is powered by a Qualcomm chip. The core specs—such as a 4.32GHz max processing speed and Adreno 830 GPU (as per source code)—suggest that it indeed features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
  • The Sony XQ-FS54’s Geekbench listing further reveals the presence of 12GB of RAM and Android 15. It scored 2,967 and 9,017 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
  • The Sony EQ-FS72 variant is also equipped with 12GB of RAM and Android 15. It scored 1981 points in the single-core test and 5078 points in the multi-core test.

Sony Xperia 1 VII specifications (rumoured)

  • As per other reports, the Xperia 1 VII will feature a 6.5-inch OLED 120Hz screen with support for 4K resolution.
  • The Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered phone may ship with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
  • The device may pack a 5,000mAh+ battery with 30W rapid charging support.
  • Its rear camera setup may include a 48-megapixel primary camera with OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. For selfies, it will feature a 12-megapixel front-facing camera.

According to reports, the Sony Xperia 1 VII will debut with a starting price of $1,399. The device is likely to be joined by a mid-range model dubbed the Xperia 10 VII.
