Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy Watch 8 series of flagship smartwatches. Reports have revealed that the lineup will comprise two models: the Watch 8 and the Watch 8 Classic.
Recent leaks have pointed to model numbers such as SM-L320, SM-L325U, SM-L330, and SM-L335U being associated with different size variants and configurations of the Watch 8. On the other hand, the Classic variant is said to carry model numbers SM-L500 and SM-L505. In a new development, the Galaxy Watch 8 variants have received FCC certification, indicating that the smartwatch is nearly ready for launch.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 LTE FCC certified
- The FCC has approved the Galaxy Watch 8’s SM-L335F and SM-L335U variants.
- The FCC documents confirm that these variants will support LTE connectivity.
- The Watch 8 LTE’s FCC listing also reveals support for other connectivity features, such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, and NFC.
- Since it supports LTE, the Watch 8 will offer Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, allowing users to share cellular data with other Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
- With Wi-Fi Direct support, it can also be used to transfer data between devices.
- The FCC label image confirms that the Watch 8 LTE will support 10W wired charging. It will also have support for wireless charging.
Samsung is expected to hold a launch event in July to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The same event is also likely to witness the arrival of other devices, such as the Galaxy Z Flip FE and the Galaxy Watch 8 series.
