AKAI Expands India Portfolio With Digital Wash Top-load Washing Machines

When it comes to washing clothes, Indian households mostly deal with mixed fabric loads, frequent wash cycles, and limited space. In most cases, top-load fully automatic washing machines are preferred across different price segments. And because of all of that, capacity, low maintenance, and dependable everyday performance now play an important role in choosing which washing machine to buy over feature-heavy smart integrations, particularly outside metro markets.

Against this backdrop, Akai has launched a new range of Digital Wash top-load fully automatic washing machines in India. These are aimed at users looking for practical upgrades such as integrated heating, energy-efficient operation, and higher-capacity options, designed for long-term use.

Digital Wash Lineup Features

The Digital Wash lineup is available in both plastic and glass lif variants. It comes in Mid-Black and Inox Grey colour options.

The new washing machines are available in capacities: 7.5kg, 8kg, 9kg, 10kg, and 12kg, which cover small households as well as larger families that prefer free, bulk wash cycles. Across all of these variants, you get standard features like Deep Clean Technology with Sheen, a built-in heater for improved stain removal, and inverter technology intended to reduce power consumption while keeping operational noise in check.

In addition to this, all the washing machines come with a set of common features like anti-bacterial drum coat, multiple wash programs, Magic Filter for lint collection, Water Fall wash action, and a memory function that allows the machine to resume operation after power interruptions.

There are additional features too that specifically keep in mind the Indian household conditions, these include quick wash, auto-balance to handle uneven loads, child lock, buzzer alerts, auto power-off and restart, and a soft-closing lid. The machines are also designed to operate efficiently at low water pressure and include an anti-rat design.

Akai is also offering a 10-year warranty on fully automatic wash motors across the range. The company currently operates over 1,200 service centres across 28 states, covering nearly 1,900 pin codes, aimed at ensuring easier access to maintenance and faster service turnaround.

In India’s top-load washing machine segment, most recent launches have focused on adding new features rather than rethinking everyday usability. Akai’s new washing machines fit into this pattern, offering larger capacities, integrated heating, and inverter-based operation, features that are really important to a user. The lineup will mostly suit households replacing older fully automatic machines or upgrading from semi-automatic models, where reliability, service access, and familiar controls matter more than smart features.
