Poco X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max monikers appear via TDRA certification

Poco X8 Pro Max

Poco India has just released a teaser, which hints that the Poco X8 series’ launch could be drawing near. Ahead of the expected launch, both X8 Pro series models have appeared in the database of the UAE’s TDRA certification platform.

Poco X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max TDRA certified

As can be seen above, the TDRA has approved two Poco phones with model numbers 2511FPC34G and 2602BPC18G. The listings have confirmed that these devices will be called the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max, respectively, when they hit the market.

These devices have been previously certified in other countries in recent weeks, but it is the first time that the Poco X8 Pro Max has been revealed through a certification.

As usual, the TDRA listings of the X8 Pro models haven’t revealed anything significant about their specs. Rumours are rife that the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max will be slightly tweaked versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Pro Max, respectively, which debuted last month in China.

Poco X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max specifications (rumoured)

Rumours suggest that the Poco X8 Pro could feature a 6.59-inch OLED display offering 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. On the rear, the device is expected to include a dual-camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS support and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Performance may be handled by the Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone is also likely to house a sizeable 6,500mAh battery supporting 100W fast charging.

Meanwhile, the Poco X8 Pro Max is believed to be a rebadged variant of the recently launched Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China. It could feature a larger 6.83-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to run on the Dimensity 9500s processor and may come equipped with a slightly reduced battery capacity compared to the Redmi version, potentially around 8,500mAh instead of 9,000mAh. Camera hardware is likely to include a 20-megapixel selfie camera and a rear dual-camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit.

In comparison, the Redmi Turbo 5 has the 7,550mAh battery, whereas the Turbo 5 Max has a 9,000mAh battery. The rest of the specs seem to be unchanged on the X8 Pro lineup.

Xpert Take

The TDRA certification indicates that Poco is gearing up to introduce its next X-series lineup soon, and with February already nearing its end, the series may launch in March. Reports also suggest that the vanilla Poco X8 may not debut alongside the Pro models this time, hinting at a more focused strategy centred on higher-end variants.

If current rumours prove accurate, the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max bring strong hardware combinations, including large batteries, capable Dimensity chipsets and fast charging support. On paper, the specifications appear competitive enough to attract positive attention from both audiences and critics, especially if Poco manages to maintain aggressive pricing.
