Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi Pad 8 in India, a new Android tablet powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 mobile platform and running Xiaomi HyperOS 3. The device is positioned as a portable productivity and entertainment tablet and will be available in multiple configurations starting at ₹33,999.

According to Xiaomi India Chief Marketing Officer Anuj Sharma, the device is designed around changing user expectations for portable computing devices. “The way people work, learn, and create is changing rapidly. Today’s users expect devices that combine intelligent power with mobility so they can stay productive wherever they are,” Sharma said.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 features a thinner and lighter chassis compared with the previous generation. Xiaomi states that the device is the slimmest flagship Android tablet launched in India in 2026. The tablet runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which introduces updated lock screens, customizable widgets and interface changes aimed at improving multitasking.

Multitasking features include a vertical split-screen layout that allows two applications to run side by side. A compact horizontal split view allows secondary apps such as messaging or note-taking tools to remain visible while another app is in use. The tablet also includes a Workstation Mode that provides a desktop-style interface with a dock for quick access to frequently used applications.
The device supports PC-style browser features such as right-click functionality, hover previews and an expanded toolbar for web-based tools and services. Xiaomi also states that the tablet will receive four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates.

Performance is handled by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor paired with LPDDR5T memory and UFS 4.1 storage. According to Xiaomi, the chipset delivers up to 32 percent higher CPU performance and more than 50 percent improved GPU performance compared with the previous generation.
For writing and drawing tasks, the Xiaomi Pad 8 supports the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro stylus. The accessory supports over 16,000 pressure levels and under 1 ms latency, along with rotation support, hover detection and haptic feedback.
The tablet will be available with two display options: a glossy panel and a nano-texture display designed to reduce reflections in bright environments. Xiaomi says the nano-texture option is intended for users who spend extended time reading, writing or sketching on the tablet.
The device includes a 9,200 mAh battery and supports 45 W fast charging. Xiaomi includes a 67 W charger in the retail box.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 is also compatible with accessories such as the Xiaomi Pad Keyboard, Xiaomi Pad Focus Keyboard and the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro. It is also backward compatible with the Xiaomi Focus Pen and Focus Keyboard introduced with the Xiaomi Pad 7.
