Thomson just expanded its presence in the affordable home appliance category in India with the launch of its latest range of top-load washing machines. The new range includes three models across fully automatic and semi-automatic segments- TTL7500SN, TTL8500SPN and TSA1400D. These are mainly aimed at smaller households with heavy laundry needs, looking for something high-capacity at an affordable price point.
With this launch, the company is targeting the highly competitive sub-Rs 15,000 category, where demand continues to be driven by first-time buyers as well as users upgrading from older machines. The lineup focuses on practical features, energy efficiency and different load capacities to appeal to a wide set of consumers.
Thomson New Washing Machines’ Features
Among the three newly launched washing machines, the TTL7500SN (7.5 kg) is the only fully automatic model in the lineup. It comes with Fuzzy Logic technology, which automatically adjusts water levels and wash time based on load size. It also features multiple wash modes, a stainless steel drum, auto-balancing to reduce vibration, and features like soak and lint filters.
The TTL8500SPN (8.5 kg) is a semi-automatic model designed for faster wash cycles and lower water consumption. With this, you get a dual waterfall system for better detergent mixing and a pulsator for improved stain removal. It also offers features like a collar scrubber, caster wheels for mobility and lint filters.
The TSA1400D (14 kg) is the highest-capacity model in the range. It is aimed at larger families or those with bulk washing needs. It includes features like a quad flow pulsator for stronger water movement, a 35-minute wash timer with soak functionality, and a faster air-dry spin tub. The model also includes a child lock, buzzer alerts and lint filters.
Across all three models, Thomson is offering a 5-star BEE energy rating, along with standard features such as soak modes, pulsators and lint filters.
Price and availability
The TTL8500SPN (8.5 kg, semi-automatic) is priced at Rs 8,499. The TTL7500SN (7.5 kg, fully automatic) is priced at Rs 10,999, while the TSA1400D (14 kg, semi-automatic) is available at Rs 13,999.
All three new Thomson washing machine models are currently listed on Flipkart. You can expect additional discounts during the Summer Sale from March 18 to March 23.
According to industry experts, the sub-Rs 15,000 washing machine segment in India continues to see strong demand, particularly from first-time buyers and value-focused households. Even in that, semi-automatic models are the most popular because of their affordability and lower water consumption. But at the same time, entry-level fully automatic machines are also gaining traction because of their convenience factor. So, brands that can offer a mix of capacity, practical features, and energy efficiency, while keeping the prices competitive, will likely stay ahead in the segment.
