Blue Star Expands 2026 AC Portfolio With Focus On Efficiency, Extreme Cooling, a Premium Design

Blue Star Limited has introduced its 2026 range of room air conditioners in India, expanding its portfolio with 125 models across inverter, fixed-speed, and window AC categories. The new lineup is positioned to cater to a wider range of use cases, from entry-level adoption to premium cooling requirements.  All models are compliant with the latest Bureau of Energy Efficiency norms, which came into effect earlier this year. The 2026 lineup is structured across multiple categories, including Super Energy-Efficient ACs, Heavy-Duty ACs, Hot and Cold ACs, and models with Anti-Virus technology. Blue Star has also introduced a premium ‘Iconia’ range, finished in Midnight Silver, which is positioned as a design-focused offering within the broader portfolio.

Efficiency And Performance

Blue Star claims its Super Energy-Efficient ACs use Dynamic Drive Technology to optimise airflow and cooling. According to the company, its 1-ton inverter split ACs can achieve an ISEER rating of up to 6.25, which it says is significantly higher than standard 3-star inverter ACs.

The company also states that its Heavy-Duty AC range is designed to deliver cooling even in temperatures of up to 56°C, with the ability to maintain full cooling capacity at 43°C and support extended air throw.

For colder regions, Blue Star claims its Hot and Cold AC models can operate at ambient temperatures as low as -15°C, with additional variants designed for less extreme conditions.

The Anti-Virus AC range, according to the company, is designed to improve indoor air quality through filtration systems and can also operate in an air purification mode.

Nearly 50 models in the lineup are Smart Wi-Fi-enabled. Blue Star says these models support features such as AI-based adaptive cooling, voice commands, customised sleep modes, and energy management tools.

The latest range from the brand also includes features like convertible cooling modes, self-clean and defrost clean functions, DigiQ Octa Sensors, and Nano BluProtect technology, which the company claims helps improve durability and corrosion resistance.

Focus on First-Time Buyers

Blue Star has positioned this expanded lineup to address growing demand in India’s air-conditioner market, which the company says is driven by rising incomes, urbanisation, and intensifying climate conditions. It also kept stressing that its entire campaign has been designed with first-time buyers in mind. Frankly, we are not even surprised, given that market estimates peg 85% of buyers as first-time AC buyers.

The company also highlights that Tier 3, Tier 4, and Tier 5 markets are emerging as key growth areas, apart from first-time buyers. To support this demand, Blue Star states that its manufacturing capacity currently stands at around 1.4 million units, scalable up to 1.8 million units, with facilities in Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

With this launch, Blue Star is expanding the breadth of its AC portfolio across multiple categories and price points. The company is positioning the lineup around efficiency, performance, and adaptability to different climatic conditions.

The focus appears to be on addressing a wider range of user requirements rather than centring the portfolio around a single flagship offering.
