Colorful has refreshed its Battle-Ax motherboard lineup with two new micro-ATX models, the Battle-Ax B860M-Plus S WiFi7 and Battle-Ax B760M-Plus S WiFi7. The new boards are aimed at users building or upgrading Intel-based desktop PCs, with the B860M model targeting newer Intel Core Ultra 200S systems and the B760M model offering a more cost-conscious DDR4 route for older Intel Core platforms.
The Battle-Ax B860M-Plus S WiFi7 is the more forward-looking of the two. It supports Intel Core Ultra 200S processors and uses DDR5 memory, with Colorful claiming support for speeds of up to 8800 MT/s when overclocked. The board comes with a 10+1+1+1 phase 60A DrMOS power design, three M.2 slots, including one PCIe 5.0 x4 slot, four SATA ports, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, 5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Colorful is also positioning the B860M board as a friendlier option for first-time builders. It includes tool-free GPU quick-release and M.2 heatsink mechanisms, which should make upgrades less fiddly than on older entry-level and mid-range boards. The company also says the board is optimised for single-DIMM gaming performance, though real-world gains will depend on the CPU, memory kit, BIOS tuning, and game being used.
The Battle-Ax B760M-Plus S WiFi7, meanwhile, is designed for users who want to retain DDR4 memory while moving to a newer motherboard with modern wireless connectivity. It supports Intel 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen Core processors, up to 128 GB of DDR4 memory, and DDR4 speeds of up to 4800 MHz when overclocked. It also gets a 12+1+1 phase 60A DrMOS power design, three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots with full-coverage heatsinks, a reinforced PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
The choice between the two boards is fairly clear. The B860M-Plus S WiFi7 is better suited for new Intel Core Ultra 200S builds with DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 storage support. The B760M-Plus S WiFi7 makes more sense for users upgrading from an existing DDR4 system who want to reuse memory and pair the board with 12th, 13th, or 14th Gen Intel Core processors.
Colorful has not shared pricing or retail availability for either motherboard yet. The company says users should contact local Colorful representatives for availability and pricing details.
