LG Electronics India has unveiled its 2026 home appliances lineup in India, introducing new French Door refrigerators, AI DD washing machines, dishwashers, water purifiers, and an expanded Essential Series portfolio aimed at both premium and mass-market buyers.
The announcement marks one of LG’s biggest appliance portfolio expansions in India in recent years and highlights how aggressively the company is pushing localisation, premiumisation, and exports simultaneously. The company also confirmed that exports of Essential Series products have already started from Q1 2026, with LG targeting 22 countries across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa this year.
The broader strategy reflects a larger shift happening across India’s consumer appliances market, where brands are increasingly moving beyond conventional hardware upgrades and focusing on AI-driven automation, energy efficiency, and India-specific durability features.
Essential Series Gets Bigger Focus in LG’s India Strategy
Originally introduced in October 2025, LG’s Essential Series was positioned as an affordable-premium appliance lineup tailored specifically for Indian households. With the 2026 refresh, the company is significantly expanding the range across refrigeration, laundry, and cooking appliances.
LG has expanded its refrigerator lineup with new 225L, 251L, and 276L models featuring Smart Inverter Compressor technology, Smart Mode adaptive cooling, Convertible with Dairy Mode, Turbo Fresh Zone, and Auto Smart Connect support for inverter compatibility during power cuts. The company is also pushing stronger design differentiation in this segment with finishes such as Scarlet Lotus, Emerald Lotus, Wine Glory, Royal Glory, Radiant Onyx, and Shiny Steel.
On the laundry side, LG’s Essential Series now includes new top-load washing machines in 8kg to 10kg capacities. Features include Low Pressure Fill for low water pressure conditions, Intelligent Auto Restart during power cuts, Turbo Spin, Eco Wash, Saree Course, and the ProShield motor designed for improved durability in humid and dusty conditions.
LG has also expanded its AX series semi-automatic washing machines with capacities ranging from 8kg to 12kg. The lineup includes Dual Spin Shower, Roller Jet Pulsator, Ultra Scrub Wall technology, and soft-close toughened glass lids. What stands out here is LG’s increasing focus on solving Indian household problems directly instead of relying purely on premium branding. Features like hard-water optimisation, inverter compatibility, low-pressure water fill, and humidity resistance are becoming central to appliance positioning across the industry.
French Door Refrigerators Lead LG’s Premium Appliance Expansion
The premium side of the portfolio is headlined by LG’s new French Door refrigerator lineup with capacities ranging from 574L to 610L. According to the company, the range includes India’s first French Door refrigerator with an Auto Ice Maker in the 33-inch width segment that does not require a plumbing connection.
The lineup includes InstaView Door-in-Door, Fresh Converter+, Door Cooling+, Hygiene Fresh+, Smart Learner adaptive cooling, Express Freeze, and AI ThinQ Wi-Fi connectivity for remote monitoring and control.
LG has simultaneously expanded its Make-in-India Side-by-Side refrigerator range with capacities extending up to 790L in finishes including Black Mirror Glass, Natural Beige, and Shiny Steel. The company has also introduced a new 674L double-door refrigerator, which it claims is its largest in the category. The emphasis on connected ecosystems and AI-led cooling reflects LG’s wider ThinQ smart home strategy that has been expanding globally across appliances and connected devices.
AI DD 2.0 Washing Machines Focus on Fabric Intelligence and Hygiene
LG’s NT, VX, and GVX front-load washing machine series now start at 12kg capacities and feature AI DD 2.0 technology capable of detecting fabric type, load weight, and soil levels to automatically optimise wash patterns.
Additional features include Steam+, EZ Dispense, Pet Care, and Microplastic Care cycles, aligning with the industry-wide shift toward hygiene-focused and sustainability-oriented appliances. LG had earlier introduced AI DD 2.0 technology in India in late 2025 as part of its premium washing machine strategy. In the mid-range segment, LG has launched new TX series top-load washing machines in 10kg and 11kg capacities, with a 9kg model expected later. These machines include Hard Water Wash, Stain Clean, Turbo Spin, eZ Mix technology, an IPX4-rated rear panel, and a corrosion-resistant stainless-steel pulsator.
Dishwashers, Water Purifiers and Microwave Ovens Also Get Major Upgrades
LG is also strengthening categories that are seeing increasing adoption in urban Indian households.
The company’s new 15-place setting LG True Dishwasher is designed specifically around Indian cookware and can accommodate up to 92 commonly used utensils, including large kadhais and cookware. The dishwasher includes TrueSteam technology for grease removal and QuadWash technology with four spray arms for broader cleaning coverage. In water purifiers, LG has introduced models featuring airtight stainless-steel tanks, UV sterilisation during storage, Digital Sterilising Care, alkaline-balanced drinking water with 7+ pH, and High Recovery Membrane technology capable of up to 60 percent water recovery.
The company has also expanded its cooking appliances portfolio with new Convertible Convection Microwave Ovens featuring Air Fry functionality, Charcoal Lighting Heater technology, and over 330 preset Auto Cook menus, including 28 Indian bread menus.
