HP has launched the OmniPad 12 in India, introducing what it describes as its first tablet designed specifically for the Indian market. The Android-powered device combines a detachable keyboard with Qualcomm Snapdragon hardware, targeting students, first-time PC buyers, small businesses and mobile professionals. It is now available through HP’s online store and major retailers with prices starting at ₹48,999.
The HP OmniPad 12 features a 12-inch 2K touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, up to 400 nits of brightness and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. HP says the tablet can deliver up to 18 hours of battery life, while its detachable keyboard allows it to switch between tablet and laptop-style use. The device weighs 600 g in tablet mode and runs Android 16 on a Qualcomm Snapdragon SM6475Q processor clocked at up to 2.40 GHz.
Other specifications include 8 GB of LPDDR5 memory, UFS storage, microSD expansion of up to 1 TB, quad speakers with DTS Ultra, dual microphones, an 8 MP front-facing camera and a 13 MP rear camera. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and a USB Type-C port. HP has also preloaded education and productivity apps such as iPrep, Lexillion and Brands.live, with limited-duration subscriptions or credits included.
The OmniPad 12 is available in Denim Blue and Meteor Silver through the HP Online Store, Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance, Croma, Vijay Sales and HP World stores. HP has set the starting price at ₹48,999 and includes a one-year limited warranty. Until August 20, buyers can also receive a ₹5,000 cashback on eligible SBI and HDFC credit cards, while HP is bundling a one-year AI subscription package that it values at ₹96,000 with the tablet.
