Each year, Samsung launches its foldable phones in July, followed by its entry-level offerings in the subsequent months. Recently, a couple of new models, such as the Galaxy A08, Galaxy M08, and Galaxy F08, received approval from India’s BIS certification platform. Now, the Galaxy A08 has also appeared on Thailand’s NBTC certification database. At the same time, the NBTC has approved the upcoming Tecno Camon Slim 5G.
Samsung Galaxy A08, Tecno Camon Slim 5G NBTC certified
As seen above, the NBTC has certified the Samsung Galaxy A08 with model number SM-A08F/DS and the Tecno Camon Slim 5G with model number CN6. As usual, these listings do not reveal any significant specifications. However, the Samsung listing confirms that it is a 4G LTE phone, while the Tecno offering supports 5G connectivity.
The Galaxy A08 was also spotted at the FCC certification recently, revealing single and dual SIM variants, Bluetooth, FM radio, and dual-band Wi-Fi support. The listing also suggested that the device may pack a 6,000mAh battery and support 15W charging. The rest of its specifications remain under wraps. It is speculated that the Galaxy F08 and Galaxy M08 could be rebranded or slightly tweaked versions of the Galaxy A08.
As for the Tecno Camon Slim 5G, it was spotted at Europe’s EEC and Geekbench, with the latter revealing a MediaTek chip, 8GB of RAM, and Android 16. The other specs of the device are under wraps. Like the existing Camon Slim 4G variant, which features an impressive 6.39mm slim profile, the forthcoming 5G version is also expected to flaunt a similarly ultra-thin design.

The Galaxy A-series entry-level phones are known for offering good value for money, as they not only pack decent specifications but also come with a longer software update policy. The Galaxy A08 is also expected to continue that trend by delivering a balanced overall experience in the affordable segment.
Major brands like Samsung and Apple have launched flagship phones with ultra-thin designs, but those devices feature significantly smaller batteries, making such phones compromise on battery endurance. Tecno, on the other hand, has launched a couple of “Slim” branded phones with impressive battery capacities, such as the Camon Slim 4G, which houses a 5,600mAh battery with 60W charging. So, one thing that seems certain is that Tecno will not compromise on the battery capacity of the Camon Slim 5G.
