Redmi K80 Ultra has bagged the network access license approval from China’s MIIT certification platform. The device will arrive as the successor to the Dimensity 9300 Plus-powered Redmi K70 Ultra, which debuted in July 2024.

The Redmi K80 Ultra will be a gaming-focused phone that will rival Dimensity 9400 Plus-powered smartphones, such as the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and Realme Neo 7 Turbo. Now that the K80 Ultra has received MIIT certification, it appears that the device may launch as early as next month in China.

Redmi K80 Ultra CMIIT certified

  • A new Redmi phone with model number 25060RK16C has emerged in CMIIT’s database.
  • The source code of the listing reveals that the device will have a massive 7,270mAh (rated value) battery.
  • This indicates that the typical value of the battery could be around 7,500mAh.

Redmi K80 Ultra specifications (rumoured)

  • According to reports, the Redmi K80 Ultra will feature a 6.83-inch LTPS OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution.
  • Under the hood, the device will have a Dimensity 9400 Plus chip and a 7,500mAh battery with 100W charging.
  • It will also feature a 50-megapixel triple camera unit and a metal middle frame.

Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi are unlikely to reveal the Redmi K80 Ultra for the next few days. The reason behind this is that the brand is currently focused on its upcoming launch event for the Chinese market, which is set to take place on May 22. The event will see the arrival of the company’s Xring O1 deca-core chip, the Xiaomi 15s Pro phone, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet, and the Xiaomi YU7 SUV.

The Redmi K80 Ultra may remain exclusive to the Chinese market. However, a modified version of the phone with better cameras is expected to be launched as the Xiaomi 15T Pro for the global market later this year.
