OPPO Reno16 Pro Spotted on NBTC Certification Website

OPPO launched its Reno 15 series in China in November last year. It seems like the company is now setting up the stage to launch its Reno 16 Pro models. As today our team has spotted the upcoming OPPO Reno16 Pro on Thailand’s NBTC certification website, indicating that the smartphone could be inching closer to its official launch.

OPPO Reno16 Pro on NBTC Certification

The listing reveals the model number “CPH2863” and confirms the marketing name as the OPPO Reno16 Pro 5G.

The certification listing does not reveal any major hardware specifications of the device. However, it confirms support for cellular connectivity, including GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and NR networks. The smartphone has been listed under Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp., Ltd., China.

OPPO Reno16 Pro Expected Specifications

The appearance of the Reno16 Pro on the NBTC platform comes shortly after several leaks and reports surrounding the device surfaced online. While OPPO has not officially shared any details yet, tipster Digital Chat Station recently revealed some of the expected specifications of the Reno16 Pro series.

According to the tipster, the Reno16 Pro models may feature a 6.78-inch LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution and slim, uniform bezels. The device is also tipped to be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500s chipset.

The handset could arrive with up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of storage, although the 1TB storage option may reportedly be cancelled before launch. Expected variants currently include 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage.

In terms of optics, the Reno16 Pro is tipped to feature a 200MP primary rear camera alongside a periscope telephoto lens. The smartphone is also expected to pack a 7,000mAh or larger battery and may feature a metal frame design.

The tipster further claims that the Reno16 Pro could be offered in black, green, purple, and white colour options. Pricing is expected to fall between CNY 4,000 (~Rs 55,000) and CNY 5,000 (~Rs 70,000) in China.

The leaked specifications suggest that OPPO could be focusing heavily on battery life and camera performance with the Reno16 Pro. If accurate the 7,000mAh battery, on the upcoming Reno series could appeal to users looking for longer screen time without frequent charging.

At the same time, the tipped 200MP primary camera and periscope telephoto sensor indicate that OPPO may continue targeting photography-focused users in the premium segment. The inclusion of an LTPO display and the Dimensity 9500s chipset could also help deliver a more flagship-like experience.

Based on the leaked pricing, the Reno16 Pro is expected to compete with offerings from brands like Xiaomi, vivo, and HONOR in China. However, since OPPO has not officially confirmed these details yet, readers should take the leaked specifications with a pinch of salt for now.
