Realme 16x Spotted on BIS certification Website; India Launch Near

Realme 16 Pro family is about to get a new member, as today we have spotted forthcoming Realme 16x on the BIS certification website. It is expected to join the Realme 16 Pro, Pro Plus, and the recently launched Realme 16. The listing reveals the model number RMX5270, which aligns with earlier leaks surrounding the device and suggests that Realme may soon expand its Realme 16 lineup in the country.

The BIS certification does not reveal any hardware specifications or official branding details. However, such certifications are usually a strong indication that a launch is getting closer.

Realme 16x on BIS certification

The BIS listing shows a Realme smartphone carrying the model number RMX5270, with the certification granted on May 6, 2026. While Realme has not officially confirmed the device yet, the model number has already surfaced in earlier leaks tied to the rumoured Realme 16x.

What to expect from the upcoming Realme 16x?

In a post on X, tipster Abhishek Yadav claimed that the upcoming Realme 16x will launch in India soon under the same model number, RMX5270. If we go by the claims of the tipster, the upcoming Realme 16x could be offered in two colour options: Endurance Brown and Glory White. The leak also suggests the smartphone may arrive in three storage variants: 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, 6GB + 256GB

Furthermore, the Realme 16x will likely succeed the Realme 15x 5G, which debuted in India in October 2025 at a starting price of Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant.

For reference, the Realme 15x 5G featured a 6.8-inch HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, 1,200 nits peak brightness, and a 256ppi pixel density.

This gives a rough idea of where the Realme 16x could be positioned in the market, although its specifications remain unknown for now.

Xpert Take

The BIS listing is the strongest sign yet that the Realme 16x is nearing its India debut. While certification databases rarely reveal full specifications, they usually indicate that internal approvals are in place and the launch cycle has started.

Based on the early leaks, Realme appears to be positioning the 16x as a value-focused addition to the Realme 16 family, with multiple storage options and simple colour choices aimed at mainstream buyers.

The bigger question now is pricing. If Realme keeps it close to the Realme 15x’s launch price, the 16x could become an important option in the sub-Rs. 20,000 segment. More details around its hardware and launch timeline should emerge in the coming days.
