Several Redmi and Poco smartphones have been bagging certifications in Southeast Asian markets. In the latest development, Thailand’s NBTC authority has approved the Poco C95 Pro (4G) and the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G. Read on to find out what to expect from these upcoming smartphones.
Poco C95 Pro NBTC certified
The Poco C95 Pro, a 4G LTE smartphone, has surfaced in the NBTC database with the model number 2606FPC72Y. According to previous reports, the device will be a rebranded version of the Redmi 17 (4G), which carries the model numbers 2606FRN72Y and 2606FRN72L.
Reports suggest that the Redmi 17 (4G) will feature a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The phone is also tipped to pack a 7,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
The Redmi 17 (4G) is said to feature an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel rear camera. Other expected features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and NFC connectivity.
Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G NBTC certified
The NBTC has also certified the global version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, which bears the model number 2607DRA18G. The device is expected to offer specifications similar to its Chinese counterpart. However, tipster Kacper Skrzypek claims that while the Chinese version packs a 9,000mAh battery, the global edition will feature a smaller 8,340mAh battery. He also stated that the global model will include an additional 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset powers it and supports 67W fast charging. The photography setup includes a 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

With the Redmi Note 17 Pro now appearing in the NBTC database, the entire Redmi Note 17 lineup, including the standard Redmi Note 17 and the flagship Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, has now received certification from the Thai authority. The Redmi Note 17 is already scheduled to launch in India on August 6, and it appears that the Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max may not take long to arrive in the Indian market. The early appearance of the global variants also suggests that Xiaomi could launch the entire Note 17 lineup around six months earlier than the previous generation, allowing the brand to capitalise on the growing demand for smartphones with large batteries.
As for the Redmi 17 (4G) and Poco C95 Pro (4G), neither device appears to have an Indian variant. Therefore, it remains unclear whether they will eventually be launched in the Indian market.
