Oppo is reportedly working on the Reno 16 series for both the global market and China. Reports suggest that the lineup could debut first in China later this month, followed by launches in other markets within the next couple of months. In a new development, the Reno 16 Pro has received another certification. At the same time, two new Oppo phones have surfaced in the database of China’s TENAA certification platform. These devices could be the Chinese variants of the Reno 16 series.

An upcoming Oppo phone with model number CPH2865 has appeared in the database of Singapore’s IMDA certification platform. The IMDA listing reveals support for connectivity features, such as WCDMA, LTE, 5G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and eSIM.

This device was previously spotted on the NBD database with specifications such as a 6.587-inch display, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage.

While the Oppo CPH2865 appears to be a Reno 16 series phone, its exact moniker has yet to be confirmed. For reference, the global versions of the Reno 16F and Reno 16 Pro carry model numbers CPH2859 and CPH2863, respectively. Therefore, it remains unclear whether the CPH2865 belongs to the standard Reno 16.

Oppo PYR110, PYS110 TENAA certified

As seen in the screenshots above, two upcoming Oppo smartphones with model numbers PYR110 and PYS110 have been approved by China’s TENAA certification platform.

The PYR110 variant features a 7,820mAh rated battery, while the PYS110 edition packs a 6,830mAh rated battery. These could translate to typical values of around 8,000mAh and 7,000mAh, respectively. The TENAA listings do not reveal any other major specifications, except that both devices appear to feature three cameras, likely including two rear cameras and one front-facing camera.

Since the Reno lineup is known for its camera-focused offerings, these TENAA-certified phones do not appear to be part of the Reno 16 series.

Oppo is known for launching two generations of Reno models every year in China. Typically, the mid-year Reno lineup receives chipset upgrades, while the year-end lineup focuses more on camera improvements.

Therefore, the Reno 16 series, which is expected to launch this month, may not receive major camera sensor upgrades. The Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro are expected to retain the 200-megapixel + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (periscope) triple-camera setup. However, the Reno 16 may feature the upgraded Dimensity 8500 chip, while the Reno 16 Pro could arrive with the Dimensity 9500s chipset.

It remains to be seen whether the Indian variants of the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro will be identical to their Chinese counterparts.
