Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro-

Now that Oppo has launched the Oppo Reno 16 series in China, the company is reportedly preparing for its global debut. The global variants of the Reno 16F 5G and Reno 16 Pro were recently certified by Thailand’s NBTC authority. A new NBTC listing has now revealed the global version of the Reno 16 along with its model number. Here’s a look at the details revealed through the latest certification.

As seen in the listing, the Oppo Reno 16 5G, carrying the model number CPH2865, has received approval from Thailand’s NBTC authority. As usual, the certification does not reveal any major specifications, but it does suggest that the global launch could be approaching.

This is not the first time the global version of the Reno 16 5G has appeared online. The device was previously spotted on certification platforms such as TDRA in the UAE, BIS in India, IMDA in Singapore, and TUV. The TUV listing revealed that the phone may support 80W fast charging.

The device has also surfaced in the NBD import-export database, which revealed some key specifications, including a 6.57-inch display, 12GB RAM, and 256GB internal storage. The rest of the specifications are still under wraps, and it remains unclear whether they will match the Chinese version.

The mentioned display size suggests that the global Reno 16 may differ from its Chinese counterpart, which features a compact 6.32-inch OLED display. The Chinese model also comes with a 200-megapixel triple camera setup, a Dimensity 8550 chipset, and a 6,700mAh battery.

Xpert Pick

Oppo’s Reno series has remained popular in India, and the Reno 16 is expected to continue that trend. The Reno 15 series, which launched earlier this year, introduced a 50-megapixel triple camera setup, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, and a 6,500mAh battery with 80W charging support.

It remains to be seen whether the upcoming Reno 16 will bring major upgrades or serve as an incremental update over the previous generation. Nonetheless, the device is expected to focus on offering a flagship-grade photography experience at a relatively affordable price point.
