Tecno appears to be preparing for the launch of a new Pova series smartphone. Today, we spotted the upcoming Tecno Pova 8 5G on the NBTC certification website, which suggests that the device could be nearing its official debut in global markets.

The listing reveals the model number “LK6” and confirms the name as “TECNO POVA 8 5G”. The certification also confirms that the handset supports GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and NR connectivity, indicating full 5G support. Apart from this, the NBTC database does not reveal any additional specifications of the smartphone.
While the certification itself is limited in terms of hardware details, previous leaks and database listings have already given us a fair idea about the upcoming device.
Tecno Pova 8 5G Specifications Leaked Earlier
The Tecno Pova 8 5G was previously spotted on the Google Play Console database. The listing revealed that the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. Although the chipset name was not directly mentioned, the model number MT6858, along with the listed CPU and GPU configuration, strongly points towards the Dimensity 7100 processor.
The handset was also seen on Geekbench recently with the same chipset, 6GB RAM, and Android 16. The Google Play Console listing further confirmed the RAM and software details.
Coming to the display, the Play Console listing suggested that the smartphone features a flat display with rounded corners. The screen is said to offer a 1080 x 2344 FHD+ resolution along with a 420dpi pixel density.
Another major highlight of the device could be its battery capacity. The Tecno Pova 8 5G was earlier spotted on the TUV certification platform, which revealed a large 7,750mAh battery. However, details about the charging speed are still unknown at this stage.
Xpert Take
The NBTC certification is another indication that the Tecno Pova 8 5G is moving closer to launch. While the listing itself does not reveal much beyond the device name and connectivity support, the earlier Play Console, Geekbench, and TUV appearances together paint a clearer picture of the smartphone.
Based on the leaks so far, Tecno seems to be focusing heavily on battery life and everyday performance with the Pova 8 5G. A Dimensity 7100 chipset paired with a large 7,750mAh battery could make the device appealing to users looking for long battery backup and reliable gaming performance in the mid-range segment.
The remaining details, including charging speeds, camera specifications, and pricing, are still under wraps. More information is expected to surface in the coming weeks as the launch gets closer.
