Dyson has unveiled the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool, a new air purification and cooling device that uses AI-based tracking to direct airflow toward users in real time.
The product is designed around a simple idea: instead of manually adjusting a fan, the airflow adjusts to you. Using intelligent sensing and oscillation, the device tracks movement within a room and continuously redirects purified air to where it is needed. India availability has not been announced yet, with the company stating that details will be shared closer to launch.
Smart Airflow That Follows Movement
At the core of the device is what Dyson calls “Find+Follow” air projection.
The system uses an AI vision-based tracking mechanism to detect user movement and adjust airflow direction accordingly. This allows the purifier to follow a person across different parts of a room, maintaining consistent cooling without requiring manual repositioning. The device can also detect multiple users and split airflow between them, adjusting oscillation dynamically to distribute air more evenly. There is also a practical layer to this. When no movement is detected, the system stops directing airflow, reducing unnecessary energy usage.
AI Without Identity Tracking

Dyson is positioning the device’s AI capabilities with a clear emphasis on privacy. The system relies on a 17-point motion detection model that tracks how a person moves rather than who they are. According to the company, all image processing happens locally on the device, with no data stored or uploaded externally. This approach reflects a broader shift in smart home devices, where AI functionality is increasingly being paired with on-device processing to address privacy concerns.
Air Purification and Cooling
Beyond tracking, the device functions as a full air purifier and cooling fan. It uses a K-Carbon and HEPA filtration system that Dyson claims can capture NO₂, odours, VOCs, and up to 99.95% of ultrafine particles as small as 0.1 microns. The unit is fully sealed to HEPA H13 standards, ensuring that filtered air does not leak back into the environment. An integrated sensing system continuously monitors air quality, including PM2.5, PM10, VOCs, NO₂, and formaldehyde levels, adjusting performance in real time.
Connected Features and Everyday Use
The Find+Follow Purifier Cool also supports app-based control through the MyDyson app, allowing users to monitor air quality and manage settings remotely. Additional features include a Night Mode, which reduces noise levels and dims the display, and smart oscillation that adapts based on room occupancy. The device is positioned as a multi-purpose solution, aimed at use cases ranging from home workouts and cooking to general indoor air quality management.
A Shift Toward Responsive Devices
The Find+Follow Purifier Cool reflects a broader direction in consumer appliances. Instead of adding more power or higher airflow numbers, the focus here is on responsiveness. The device is designed to react to user behaviour in real time, rather than requiring users to adjust it manually.
It’s a subtle shift, but an important one. Whether this kind of adaptive functionality becomes a standard expectation will depend on how consistently it works in real-world conditions. If executed well, it could redefine how users interact with everyday appliances. If not, it risks being seen as an interesting addition rather than a necessary one. For now, it positions Dyson slightly ahead of the curve, not by changing what the product does, but by changing how it behaves.
